Our friends at The Nook are turning one! Join the crew this weekend, May 1 and 2, at The Nook for its one-year anniversary festivities, filled with giveaways, lots of fun and, as always, great food and drink. MDT Hint: The Nook has an amazing patio overlooking Piedmont Park, and the forecast for this weekend is blue skies with only a slight chance of showers, Threaders!
Kick off the weekend with an all-day party on Saturday, featuring $1 Sweetwater all day and the NookBowl Challenge. The Nook bartenders need a new NookBowl (think giant fishbowl filled with goodness) and want your help. You can email your recipe to nookatlanta@gmail.com through May 1. Choose a Finlandia Vodka flavor (from classic, cranberry, lime, mango, wild berry, grapefruit, tangerine or black currant), and be sure to include at least a pint and a shot, then pair it with mixers and garnish and give it a clever name. Everyone at The Nook Saturday gets to taste the finalists’ concoctions before a panel of judges chooses the winner, who will get credit on the summer menu for their new NookBowl!
Come later Saturday evening, beginning at 8 p.m., for a world class toga party a la Jim Belushi. Sure, you can go with the traditional white sheet like Belushi did, but the MDT family wants to see how creative you can be! Prints, patterns and fashionable toga styles are highly encouraged. The Bacardi girls will be on hand to help out with raffles, food and drink specials, which will be happening all weekend.
Then, on Sunday, put on a brave face and join The Nook crew for round two, beginning with Sunday Brunch, introducing Bacon Explosion and featuring $1 Yuengling all day. That’s right … we said Bacon Explosion. Your guess is as good as ours, but you really can’t go wrong when there’s bacon involved. It’s also Derby Day, so be sure to get decked out in your finest hats, dresses and spring suits to celebrate the Kentucky Derby with the Absolute girls.
As if all that’s not enough, The Nook crew will be drawing a winner to receive FREE Totchos every day for a year. Haven’t had Totchos yet? Come see what you’re missing – it’s a pile of tater tots dressed up like nachos. Heaven? We think so.
If you haven’t yet been to The Nook, take our word that these guys know how to party. There will be patio games and giveaways all weekend long that you won’t want to miss! Plus, donate to the Piedmont Park Conservancy and get a raffle ticket good for lots of great door prizes. Now that’s a weekend’s worth of partying we can get behind!
